Our team presented the last phase of the project to the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (MJHR), the Support Unit to the European Development Fund National Agency; the institution belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and African Integration), and the Delegation of the European Union in Mali, with the participation of other actors throughout the project.

This project has been managed by the CONFED with great professionalism and keeping in mind the MJDH’s needs and the specific demands of the different parties involved.

The project, within the Mali Justice System Support Program (MJSSP), is funded by the European Union. It takes into account the construction and the restoration of the judiciary in Mali, which comprises a total of 9 buildings located in the regional capitals of the country, as well as the restoration of two centers in Bamako: The Central Prison and the Juvenile Detention Center.

The new courts of justice designed comprise Koutiala, Segou and Sikasso High Courts of Justice; and Bla, Yorosso, Kignan, Nioro du Sahel and Tominian Lower Courts. Their main goal is to strengthen the judiciary system by implementing practices that improve its credibility and accessibility for all citizens in Mali.

Furthermore, our architects aim to design new housing complexes for the judges in Ségou and Sikasso, and so they travelled to Segou to evaluate the state of the structure of the building to be renovated.

After this successful mission, the works supervision phase will be launched soon.
