The architectural proposals presented at the Fernando García Mercadal XXXI Awards are being exhibited at the Aragon Order of Architects headquarters.
The 26 layouts will be exhibited until the awards ceremony that will take place on 3rd October, the 2016 World Architecture Day. Subsequently, the panels may be exposed in the other demarcations.
The García Mercadal Award shows a sample of the Aragonese architecture and publicly acknowledges the project that best meets the technical, economic, social and environmental, issues while using the available resources, and bearing in mind the construction process, the maintenability and the site insertion.
There are five different sections: “Architecture”, “Urban Planning, landscaping and interventions in urban spaces”, “Other”, “Environment” and “Culture” and eight categories:
Building- residential use
Building and equipment-nonresidential use.
Restoration, Rehabilitation and Heritage.
Interior architecture and ephemeral architecture.
Urban planning, Landscape and interventions in urban spaces.
Categories not covered by the previous paragraphs
Sustainability and Environment
Promotion and dissemination of architectural culture.
Ingennus Urban Consulting has submitted three proposal finished in 2015 in the “Building residential/non residential use categories”: the Water Tower Building, “Los Arces” residential and San Ignacio Clemente Delgado parish.
Awards
The jury will award eight prizes: the García Mercadal Award and seven secondary awards, one for each of the remaining categories.
Exhibition schedule
The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday from 8h to 14:30h at San Voto Street, 7 (Zaragoza).
