The assignment aims at the preparation of the Draft, Basic and Construction for the renovation and expansion of the building of sections of Physics and Chemical Science Faculty, University of Zaragoza.
The work involves, moreover, the construction of a new building for the departments of chemistry, general laboratories and physics and chemistry, several classrooms and the library.
Once built the new building, the chemistry departments will be transferred there to clear out the South and West Wings of the existing building whose interior will be renovated in its entirety to relocate departments of physics. Specific reforms will take place in the North and East wings to host the departments of physical and biochemistry.
In the Central core of the existing building small reforms were undertaken and the space occupied by the library becomes the Administrative Department and a classroom.
Thus we obtain a further rationalization in distribution of space and building organization, locating in the new building the chemical section and the general laboratories, spaces that need a larger endowment of furniture and facilities and whose realization is therefore easier on a new building. The library also needed special lighting conditions and distribution that could not obtained in the existing building.
